Meet the Owner

Hello Friend!
My name is Karley. I am the owner, designer, and collector behind Jordan Valley.
If you follow me on social media you may recognize me for the viral skull suncatcher design and/or as the original creator of the corner bookshelf hangers. But for those that don't recognize or follow me on social media, let me tell you a little about myself.
I am married with three beautiful children and four spoiled kitties. I would say reading is my favorite hobby but home decorating and writing are close second and third. I like to say I'm a designer by day and a writer by night but still working on that debut novel. I'll finish it one day lol.
I have been running JV for almost ten years out of my home but just recently opened my own storefront in Welch, OK. Unfortunately, for far too much of my creative career I struggled to find my authentic creative vision. I was focused on others opinions and thought that the only path to successfully creating was to follow what the crowd wanted, to narrow my scope to a specific niche and only focus on that. But beneath that insecurity and confusion was a girl that just wanted to make pretty things that I was passionate about. So I did. I made what I wanted when I wanted and wouldn't you know it, that's what opened the door to my own little version of success. Who knew it was as simple as following your passions.
In addition to my art, I am an avid thrifter/collector. I am a big believer in reducing waste and reusing what's already been made if possible. My love for repurposing second hand items in a new and functional way, is just as much about helping our planet as much as it is about saving some money (seriously, who doesn't love saving money?).
With Jordan Valley, I wanted to create a place where others like me could find exactly what they are looking for. Whether that be a new handmade piece or a loved antique in need of a new home.
Anywho, you'll notice that many of the pieces here revolve around bookish decor, wall art, shelf trinkets and home decor with a hint of whimsy (there's that passion I was talking about, I love whimsy) but it's far from everything you'll find. If this aesthetic speaks to you, you're in the right place and if you're still trying to find your style, you might just find it here.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read this and for coming to support my small business. My only hope with your visit to my website today is that you find something that makes you smile!
Much love,
Karley Nicole
